Perform all required duties to disassemble and reassemble traction generators following established methods and procedures. Disassemble used units completely; clean and visually check parts for damage, wear, etc. Install field coils in frame and make all necessary inside and outside connections according to wiring diagrams and insulate connections. Spray and/or brush paint coils and other internal parts and components. Assemble completely including such components as armature, shaft bearings, brush holder, brushes, end bell(s), alternator, and other items according to individual job requirements. Exercise care to avoid damage to any components or insulation; obtain correct fits and clearances pr established criteria. Perform other related duties as required or directed. Detect and report defective parts or materials, unusual conditions to proper supervision.
