Maintenance Technicians will keep all machines and equipment operating at peak performance. Maintenance Technicians will perform ongoing facility maintenance to include but not limited to fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring. Maintenance Technicians will install new equipment as needed, troubleshoot and repair machines in a careful and expedited manner. Maintenance Technicians will perform all duties in a safe manner.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete and turn in daily work reports and parts as needed
  • Perform electrical work, change out electrical motors, troubleshoot electrical circuits
  • Repair all equipment as needed
  • Perform equipment preventative maintenance and turn in required paperwork
  • Operate all processing room equipment in order to properly and quickly repair
  • Follow all manufactures and company instructions on repairing and installing new equipment
  • Will notify supervisor or management of problems
  • Performs troubleshooting and repair electrical systems, electrical controls, electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, blowers/fans.
  • Resolves equipment malfunctions by evaluating performance breakdowns, identifying root cause, safely repairing the equipment, and taking actions to prevent recurring failures
  • Performs duties in accordance with company polices, OSHA regulations and Food Safety/GMP policies
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and other general repairs throughout the plant as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed
  • Protective gear such as gloves, work boots, and smocks required at all times
  • Will work around moving machinery
  • Will work in an environment where temperature ranges 0-50 degrees some work outside facility may be required
  • Hazmat-related equipment must be worn when needed (i.e. gloves, chemical/fire-approved clothing, respirator)
  • Moderate to physical effort required
  • Regularly required to walk, reach, bend and stand for long periods of time throughout the day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong knowledge in electrical, machine repair, Preventative Maintenance, Pneumatics
  • At least three (3) years of prior experience in plant/manufacturing setting
  • Some experience of ammonia systems strongly preferred
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, determine problem and execute solution
  • Excellent knowledge of powered and manual tools; sound mechanical ability
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, welding and general maintenance,
  • Knowledge of motors/ belts/conveyors/piping/plumbing
  • Able communicate effectively with others; team work oriented
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision; must be self motivated to produce results

  • 3 years
